NOTE: Upgrade classes are open only to Sound & Communication members in good standing with their Local Union who have contributions made to the NorCal S&C Training Trust on their behalf under the Northern California Addendum No. 2 to the 9th District Sound & Communication Agreement.
Welcome to the NorCal JATC Classes page. Here you can explore available online and in-person training opportunities, including exam preparation, technical specialty courses, code essentials, and safety training.
To view the current class offerings and enroll, select the link to the Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS will open in a new window or tab.
Accessing the LMS
If you already have an LMS account, sign in using your username or email address and password.
If you do not yet have an account:
1. Select “Sign Up Here” on the LMS login page.
2. Complete the account-registration process.
3. Your eligibility will be verified with your local union before access is activated.
Please allow up to two to three business days for verification and account activation.
Once your account is active, log in to view all currently available classes, request enrollment, and begin online coursework.
If Your Account Is Inactive
If you try to sign in and your account status shows as inactive, do not create a new account.
Instead, email the JATC at info@norcal-jatc.com and request that your existing account be reactivated. Reactivating your account preserves your previous course history, progress, and completed work.
Available Training
After logging in, you can view and enroll in available online and in-person training.
Online Classes
Online and blended-learning offerings may include:
- California State Exam Preparation for the VDVT and Fire/Life Safety exams
- Fiber Optic Blended Learning Track
- Paging Systems
- Master Clock Systems
- Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
- Additional technical and professional-development courses
In-Person Classes
Instructor-led classes may include:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Meters and Relays
- NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 Essentials
- Nurse Call Systems
- Additional hands-on technical training
OSHA Training Requests
Installer technicians may also use the LMS to request enrollment in:
- OSHA 10
- OSHA 30
